IFFI 2025 Day 04: The Pulse of India: In Pictures — The Central Bureau of Communication's Troupes Bring Soul-Stirring Traditional Heritage

Goa, 24 November: The fourth day of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Panaji, Goa, was dedicated to showcasing the vibrant diversity of India’s performing arts. The INOX venue transformed into a cultural hub, where traditional folk dances, regional songs and dynamic storytelling were presented by the Cultural Troupes of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) from across the country. The Thadiya folk dance and songs from the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand brought alive the spirit of the Himalayas, while Assam’s captivating Bortaal dance enthralled the audience with its rhythm and energy. Odisha’s lively Sambalpuri folk dance highlighted the state’s rich rhythmic heritage. The Jajhiya folk dance from the Mithila region of Bihar added cultural charm to the evening. The distinctive Singhtoo dance of the Hatti tribe from Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh showcased tribal vibrancy and tradition. Telangana’s Gussadi tribal dance impressed viewers with its intricate movements, traditional attire and unique cultural expression. Jammu’s Dogri dance brought the region’s melodious folk essence and joyful spirit to the IFFI stage. A beautiful Ras folk dance was performed by artists from the People’s Action for Social Development, Daman and Diu, celebrating unity through rhythm. Additionally, the traditional folk dance Adukke Karagattam from Tamil Nadu, known for its grace and exceptional skill, mesmerised the audience with its energetic and artistic performance. Overall, the day at IFFI 2025 became a grand celebration of India’s colourful, diverse and deeply rooted cultural traditions.
